Our Aircraft
Aviation Tours has selected the Beechcraft King Air as ‘the aircraft of choice’ for all our Tours. The King Air is the most successful aircraft design in its category, outselling its competitors for over 50 years of continued production. The King Air is a multi-engine turbine aircraft powered by the unmatched reliability of the Pratt & Whitney PT6.
Our King Airs are fitted with leather seating for 8 guests, and all our tours operate with 2 flight crew for your safety and comfort. The aircraft is pressurised which means we can fly over poor weather and our air conditioning ensure a comfortable flight. Each flight leg on our tours is kept to a maximum of 1 hour 45 minutes, with an average of 56 minutes for most tours. There are no toilet facilities on board our aircraft.
Our cruising altitude varies (certified to 35,000’) dependant on the length of the flight and weather but is generally between 20,000’ and 30,000’ flying at 500km per hour, the same speed as regional airliners. Travelling 70% faster thanks to the 2 jet engines, and 3 times higher than other comparable touring aircraft means our guests spend less time travelling and more time sightseeing. All you need to do is sit back, relax, and allow our crew to show you the best our country has to offer.
